Two miles east off Highway 83 between the towns of Russell and Roblin located in the R.M. of Shellmouth/Boulton. Our backyard includes the Shell River Valley, the Assiniboine River Valley and Bear Creek Valley, Asessippiand the Duck Mountain Provincial Parks as well as Riding Mountain National Park.

We are the closest town to the Asessippi Ski Hill and Winter Park and Lake of the Prairies located in the Asessippi Provincial Park.

The area is acclaimed for being the best grain and cattle producing area in Manitoba.   In fact, Inglis was known as the “Barley Capital of Manitoba”.  This has entrenched agriculture as the dominant industry.

The scenic Assiniboine River Valley and the Shell River Valley which joins at the Shellmouth Dam to form the Lake of the Prairies, creating the setting for the Asessippi Provincial Park.  Asessippi Beach and Campground is located along PTH #83 and at the junction of the Bear Creek Valley and the Shell River Valley.  These valleys provide an abundance of recreational activities which include a world-class downhill ski facility – Asessippi Ski Area and Winter Park, and cross country ski trails – Rivendell X-Country Ski Trails.  These parks also include camping, swimming and picnic areas, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, ball diamonds, and playgrounds.

Cottage development and lots are also available on both sides of the Lake of the Prairies.  Kilman Cottage Development is located on the west side of the Lake of the Prairies and Prairie Lake Lodge Development is located on the east side of the Lake of the Prairies.

Backcountry entrance to the Riding Mountain National Park is only a short distance away.

The area is also known for excellent sport hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Other recreation, historic sites, accommodations, dining, hotel/bar, welding, autobody, banking, ATM, school — come visit!!
